ABSTRACT DE LA PONENCIAHe received the Dr. Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree in 1970, from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the MBA degree in 1977, from the Instituto de Empresa de Madrid. From 1969 to 1988, he taught Electronics in the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación and Facultad de Informática, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, being his research interest Semiconductor Devices. Since 1974, he held technology-related positions in the industry. He was R&D Manager of Amper S.A., Head of the R&D Department of Telefónica de España S.A., Associated General Manager of Telefónica I+D S.A., and General Manager and Member of the Board of Amper Programas S.A. Currently, he is General Manager of COTEC, a Foundation created by more than 50 Spanish companies for promoting the technological innovation in the Spanish industry. He has been on the Board of Directors of the following firms: Intelsa, Comet, AT&T Microelectronics in Spain and Amper Programas. During his academic career and his initial years in the business world, he wrote approximately 30 technical articles published in Spanish and international journals in the field of electronics, specifically related to semiconductor devices. Later his publications dealt with telecommunications and often with R+D and technological innovation management. |
