Ferràn Porto i Vila, tourism entrepreneur, hotelier and solicitor was born in Pollença (Mallorca) on 20 November 1948. He is married with two children.

He received his primary education at La Salle school in Palma and his baccalaureate from Ramón Llull secondary school, also in Palma.

He received his higher education in Barcelona, where he graduated in Law. In 1972 he joined the practice of Lluís Matas Valenzuela as an articled clerk.

In June 1973 he registered with the Official Association of Solicitors of the Balearic Islands and between 1973 and 1975 he led the process of revitalizing the Young Solicitors Group, while serving as its President.

Since 1986, his career has been linked with tourism, as an entrepreneur jointly owning a large holiday complex in Alcudia.

Within the Hotel Entrepreneurs' Federation of Mallorca, Ferràn Porto has held several posts: as President of Alcudia Hoteliers' Association, as a Board member, as Second Vice President during Forteza- Rey's presidency and as president of the Federation for two terms of office between 1992 and 1998.

At present he chairs the Boards of several family firms linked to the field of tourism. At the same time he is President of the Port of Pollença Royal Yachting Club, and First Vice President of Colonya (Caixa Pollença) savings bank.
