With more than 20 years of experience in the tourism industry, Carmona is one of the creators behind Hotelverse, the tech company seeking to revolutionise the hotel room bookings model and improve the digital experience for customers.
Her professional career at prestigious hotel companies both in Spain and overseas has given her a holistic view of this changing market. Carmona has held various senior management positions in which she was able to lead and innovate on more than 200 projects in the fields of operations, product research and development, customer experience, analytics, marketing, sales, distribution, revenue management and e-Commerce.
Her last position before launching her own company alongside her partner, Rafael Bover (current COO of the startup), was at Grupo Iberostar. In fact, Hotelverse emerged at this hotel chain as an intrapreneurship project to resolve the problem of increased sales intermediation and to improve the website conversion rate.
At the time, Carmona was the SVP Sales Operations and Global Director Sales Operations following a professional career of more than a decade during which she was promoted within the company and given more responsibilities. She was leading a team of more than 170 people in 12 countries, overseeing business strategy for the sales, business and partnership divisions, among others.
In terms of her training, Carmona has various qualifications in hotel management, marketing and business from Cornell University, the IESE Business School and other educational institutions specialising in the tourism industry. She has been a member of the advisory council at Beonprice since 2015.
