Ever since the first INTO Seminar in 2004, the event has consolidated itself as a platform for debate on ideas aimed at finding and presenting best business practices. Over the 16 editions of this event, various topics have been discussed in the field of tourism products, such as cultural, sailing and health tourism; marketing instruments, such as branding and social media; and business model trends within the tourism industry. Furthermore, debates have taken place on new positions aimed at tackling sustainability in the sector, including such topics as the circular economy, climate change and seasonality. Other issues discussed have included trends in the technologies being used within the tourism industry to analyse tourist behaviour and to use these new technologies to sustainably create and/or transform tourist destinations. The latest edition, which took place entirely online, was focused on analysing activity within the tourism sector in this post-COVID era through innovative strategies and the promotion of safe and responsible destinations.
Since the latest edition took place entirely online due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, we are pleased to announce that this next edition will take place in person at the Parc Bit and will also be streamed online for those unable to attend physically.
Business leaders, researchers, professors, students and public authority representatives, among others, will gather on 24 November to examine the importance of data and disruptive technologies in finding solutions for the tourism industry value chain.
The main goal sought by the INTO Seminar is to foster the transfer of knowledge and to promote innovation throughout the tourism industry value chain so as to boost competitiveness in the Balearic Islands.
